A temperamental man faces fines and up to six years in the slammer for shooting his own lawnmower in his back yard after it wouldn't start, reports say.

The police in Milwaukee, USA, decided this was a criminal offence and are taking action.

Keith Walendowski was allegedly drunk in the early hours of the morning when he thought it would be a good idea to mow his lawn.

He was having trouble starting the machine and became so infuriated he took his sawn-off shotgun from his basement and fired at the lawnmower twice.

Not surprisingly, the shots did not help the lawnmower start, and now Mr Walendowski is flabbergasted that he may face fines of up to £6,000 and doing time.

Abuse of lawn equipment. Its a terrible terrible crime. lol

I'd have at least used a handgun equipped with a silencer. Might've saved him having the neighbors call the cops. XD

A buddy of mine would use this as evidence that the US is becoming a fascist state. Me? I just think it's funny.

He only got in trouble because he was using a sawed off shotgun actually. If he had used a legal weapon he wouldn't be in trouble.

There is more to the story, as it is not illegal to shoot your lawn mower when your drunk at 3 am, it is illegal to use a sawed off shotgun, and is the reason for the severe fine and jail time. A lesser charge of firing in an unsafe area would not warrant such a big penalty, he would have been ok using a legal weapon.

But yes Funny to read, as long it is not you who did it, and got charged with that crime. The cops could also have given him a warning, for when he does that next time he gets that penalty.

Oh, well if that's true, they need to come tell that the people in my neighborhood. XD They fire off handguns in the street... and I swear I heard a auto or a semi-auto sometime in the last few weeks. >__<

Scary stuff, but unless you know who's doing it and know for sure what the law is, there's not a whole lot they can do... unfortunately.

Besides, we're moving soon, and if all goes well, it's to a neighborhood MUCH better than this one.
