Personality: Nuka is serious and dedicated to his craft; once he finds himself interested in something, he invests his entire being into the better knowledge and respect of it. He is a planner, as a hunter who stalks his prey often is, and is patient enough to follow a prey item for hours on end for the ‘perfect moment’. He finds joy in discovery and educating others on what he knows, and if he were to ever fall for a she-cat he wouldn’t quite know what to think other than to try to figure out her quirks. Nuka is well-mannered around other cats and defers to authority, but demands respect from younger cats and is more than willing and able to dish out discipline.
History: Born as the younger of two cubs, he and his brother thrived under the watchful eye and experience of a mother who had already raised three litters of cubs to adulthood. She would keep them entertained, as well as out of trouble, by telling them stories with morals form her own childhood. Keeping them out of danger, the three lived as comfortably as they could.
At one year old, he and his twin were caught by a brown bear as they were scavenging off a kill their mother had made a day before; Nuka had the sense to run up the nearest tree, but his brother decided to fight. One swipe of the bear’s paw left the young cougar dead with a broken neck, and Nuka was without his constant playmate and support.
Seven months later, Nuka decided to leave his mother and cross the mountains to find a territory to call his own. Along the way he was taught the lore of the forest by the way of the markings and occasional speeches he heard from other cougars and creatures in the area. When he arrived to the abode of the Matron Seraph, he came to her seeking to be the keeper of history and stories of this land he discovered. They fascinated him, and the fleeting nature of these tales meant they may disappear without a ‘recorder’.
