| It was another calm day in the tall grass fields. As always, they appeared to be barren, with no signs of life other than the wolves that inhabited the area. But amongst the tall grass today, there was a carael-colored femme hidden so perfectly, one would likely not see her with the naked eye. Her fur allowed her to blend in with the tall grass, which had been to her advantage when she attempted to hunt for food. but she was not hunting today, or at least not in the normal sense. Today she was looking for someone very dear to her; a male whose side she had rarely left after the packs escaped from the fire.
The wolf who emerged from the tall grass was New Dawn, and she was looking for Red Moon. She had left his side for a little bit to wander around...and to give him his space. Although things between them had appeared to get more comfortable, New Dawn was still sometimes bashful in Red Moon's presence, and the last thing she wanted was for him to think she was a nuisance. But now she wanted to make sure he was doing okay, especially since he had some wounds healing up from the battle.
"I wonder where he wandered off to?"

| Along with many of the other wolves, scouts, leaders and soldiers alike; Red Moon's wounds were slowly but surely healing. Aside from the scars that would soon litter his night-black pelt and the pieces he was missing from his ears, Red Moon appeared the same.
At the moment, Red Moon sat quietly next to a small stream as the tall grasses swaying the afternoon breeze. A small smile stretched across his face as his fur ruffled in the passing winds. He was at ease, something that he honestly hadn't been in a long time.
In his relaxed state, Red Moon's mind wandered to the events of the weeks beforehand and of his recovering wounds. The battle was as sharp in details as when he'd been there. The tang of blood, burning muscles in his legs and chest as he ovecame his opponents. But the pain came along with those memories. The pressure on his neck when Saeros forcefully yanked him NightOwl's own. That wolf...was a formiable opponent. Red Moon mused a moment what it would be like to spar with Saeros on more friendly terms.
"I wonder where he wandered off to?"
One of his ears twisted in curiosity before he turned his head to see the grass that moved against the direction that the wind was blowing. He smiled lightly once more as he began to creep through the tall grass, before leaping towards New Dawn in a quick, nearly puppy-like pounce...

| Unexpecting to be snuck up on from the tall grass, New Dawn startled when she heard what sounded like paw steps and turned her head to locate the source of the sound. When Red Moon pounced over toward her, she let out a small but startled yelp and dashed away back into the tall grass. It was only a brief moment later, after realizing who it was that had found her, that she trotted back over and poked her head through a particularly thick patch of grass to look at Red Moon.
"Sorry about that, I got a little startled."

| "Sorry about that, I got a little startled."
Red Moon, however, knew who he'd been sneaking up on, and was chuckling lightly in humor of New Dawn's reaction. He was gaining a deeper laugh as he continued to mature and age. His red eyes were shining with humor as New Dawn apologized to Red Moon.
"Don't apologize, I snuck up on you. But your reaction was rather funny to watch."
The scout continued to chuckle, a grin set across his muzzle as he moved forward to sit near New Dawn.
"How are you?" | |

| New Dawn almost didn't comprehend Red Moon's question; she was more shocked at something else.
He was laughing!
Laughter was not a trait that she had found common in Red Moon, and as she looked at him, she almost appeared mesmerized. It was only when she realized that he was moving closer that she came out of her little trance. She shuffled her paws a bit as she thought about his question, even though it shouldn't have been too complicated to answer.
"Oh, ummm...I'm doing fine, thank you. I'm much more relieved to see your improvement, considering the extent of your wounds from the battle."
