Vista Service Pack 2 is here! You heard me right. For those of you out there with Vista, the second service pack is now available for download from Microsoft. This service pack will provide all of the MS updates since Service pack 1 plus quite a few new enhancements to (hopefully) make your Windows Vista experience better. Some of these enhancements include:
* An upgrade to the Bluetooth protocol, bringing it to bluetooth 2.1.
* The ability to burn Blu Ray disks without a separate program (Blu Ray compatible burner is required).
* An upgrade to the Vista side bar to make it more responsive.
* Improved WIFI reliability after coming out of sleep mode.
On top of these enhancements, Microsoft says that Vista SP2 has addressed over 700 previous Vista bugs that should increase performance by up to 10%.
The Vista SP2 file is big! If you have a dial-up connection, I would recommend doing this download overnight. The file size is 348.3MB. On top of that, if you want to install Service Pack 2, you must already have Service Pack 1 installed.
As I mentioned above, the service pack is available for download from the Microsoft web site. This update will be made available via automatic updates in the next few weeks. If you want to get ahead of the game and install it now, the links are available below.
